Small Group Ministries

Small Groups equal a Big Impact. Whether centered around Scripture, Service or Fellowship we’re convinced that the best environment for cultivating a growing relationship with Jesus Christ is a small group.

Why are small groups so important? Because in small groups . . .

•you build relationships of quality and integrity with others
•you experience Christian love and caring, at the deepest possible level
•your faith deepens, as you and your group-mates study together, share your discoveries, and hold each other in mutual accountability
•you and your group grow closer as you work together to help others
•you have a laboratory where you can test your gifts and find them confirmed by others
•you’re part of a group that’s there for one another, through good times and bad.

In addition to the Adult Faith Formation opportunities, the following small groups are currently active at Christ the King:

Prayer Shawl Ministry

Compassion and the love of knitting/crocheting have been combined into a prayerful ministry and spiritual practice which reaches out to those in need of comfort and solace, as well as in celebration and joy. Many blessings are prayed into every shawl. Current Leaders are Marge King and Althea Zayleskie. The prayer shawl group is taking the summer off & will start up again in September on Thursday at 9:30-11:30 a.m.

Music Ministry

The CTK Choir helps to lead worship at the 9:00 a.m. traditional worship service and other special events. The Choir is open to all who have a desire to praise God through song. Choir members range in age from Junior High students through adults. Rehearsals are held at 7:00 p.m. (until about 8:00) on Wednesdays. There is a warm-up rehearsal at 8:30 Sunday mornings upstairs in the Fellowship Hall (8:15 for anyone wanting to go through his or her part – especially those who couldn’t make it to the Wednesday evening rehearsal.)

The Praise Band helps lead worship at the 11:15 a.m. progressive worship service and other special events. The Band is open to all who have a desire to praise God through song. Band members range in age and instruments and rehearse on Saturdays at 10:00 a.m. There is a warm-up rehearsal at 10:50 on Sunday mornings in the Sanctuary.

New singers and musicians are always welcome to both ministries. Come and enjoy good fellowship and the joy of using your God-given gift for music! For more information, contact Jim Ford, Director of Music Ministry.
